Who We Are

Here at Wild Horse Alliance of Northern Nevada, we are driven by a single goal; to preserve and protect our iconic wild horses for future generations. These wild horses are part of our Western Heritage. We strive to build productive relationships between the Alliance groups and unite our members  in working toward this goal.

Making A Difference

The Historic Virginia Range Mustang

License Plates Are Available Now!

The Nevada Virginia Range Mustangs Special License Plate is now available through the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)!

We’ve been waiting patiently in line and that patience paid off.

Here is how you can help. First, get YOUR plates for your vehicles. Second, tell all your friends, family, acquaintances – any Nevadan you meet!

The proceeds received from the plates directly benefit the Virginia Range wild horses in a variety of ways including fencing, fertility control, hay for the rescued horses and diversionary feed for the wild ones (when needed and approved), rangeland rehabilitation, orphan foal rescue, public education campaign, rescued horse training program, etc.

Adopt a Virginia Range Mustang!

Thinking about adopting your new best friend?

At Wild Horse Alliance of Northern Nevada, we are dedicated to matching our wild horses to the best adopters and homes possible. Contact our sanctuaries through these links for more information:

Take A Walk on the Wild Side

Nevada is home to over half of our Nation's wild horses.  Northern Nevada is unique in that we are home to wild horses managed on public lands by the Bureau of Land Management, and on both State owned and private property by the Nevada Department of Agriculture.  Come see our wild mustangs running free!
